Join us on the high seas in this year’s Kids Adventure Week at Crazy Squirrel!

Last year our adventurers tackled the hunt for the secret squirrel. This year they’ll take to the oceans in wooden ships and work together in puzzles to solve.

Each day we’ll play Dungeons & Dragons for a few hours, then spend our afternoons painting, crafting and learning.

Every pirate needs to know how to navigate, so we’ll build a compass and a telescope to use the stars to chart our way.

We’ll take a look at what makes a heavy object like a boat be able to float – and how we can build one to carry the most loot. We’ll also take a look at different ways of propulsion, including oars, magnets and water nozzles.

And how to keep our loot safe? Through a treasure chest with a false bottom, of course! And the knowledge on how to make a map to find it again. We may even get to make our own dice and have some quick games of Liars Dice.

Pirates used singing and instruments to have fun and help with their work. We’ll take a look at history through sea shanties and build flutes, much as they did in the day of pirates.

On Friday we’ll round up with some pirate games, using the skills of the previous week and taking a look at some basic knot tying.

It’ll be an amazing week of puzzles and skills, sure to make your pirate grin.

But, as in Dungeons and Dragons, there’s always rules. Here’s what you need to know:

Week available:
July 21-25

Kids must be aged 12-16.

Kids and Guardians must sign our code of conduct. It basically says that we expect the kids to behave themselves and if they don’t, they can be removed from the program. We know kids are kids, but we’re responsible for everyone that joins and need to be able to focus on the group, not just individuals.

We’d like to let each child carve part of their flute, under strict one-on-one supervision. If you don’t think that’s a good fit for your child, please let us know. This will also be mentioned in the code of conduct.

Kids should provide their own lunch. For snacks, we’ll give each child a $3 concession card everyday. Also, a water cooler is available for free, just bring a refillable bottle. For serious allergies, please let us know.

Adventures from 10 am to 5 pm, drop off starts at 9:30.

Participants can be dropped off early to help guardians make it to work on time. They need to be picked up in a timely manner, especially on Friday, due to other events.

Please let us know ahead of time if you believe your child needs any special accommodations, we’ll do our best to handle them or let you know if you think we’re not up to it.

Some activities may change due to needs and instructors.

Reservations are required. Payment is required upon reservation. If you cancel by June 10th, you’ll get a full refund (90% if you use Paypal because they don’t refund fees).

So what’s this cost?

$500

Crazy Squirrel will entertain your child for 7 hours a day, create a custom campaign, provide snacks. Your adventurer will have a ton of new stuff — a treasure chest with secrets, a handmade flute, a telescope and more — plus the summer’s best adventure.
